Frequently Asked Questions

  • What time should I get there?
    Please arrive 15 minutes before your reserved time so you can find parking, get checked in, and have your pre-game orientation.
  • Do I need a reservation?
    You must reserve and pay for your tickets in advance by booking online. The website always lists the current reservations that are available.
  • Can I bring my phone in the room?
    We do not allow phones or other electronic devices in our escape room. Our puzzles are designed so that no outside knowledge is needed to solve them. Everything you need is inside the room – so no need to search for answers!
  • Where are you located?
    We are conveniently off Highway 301 in Rocky Mount, across from Auto Bell. Our address is 1243 Independence Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
  • Are escape rooms safe?
    Yes! A game coordinator observes the players during play. While they are there to provide hints and help for the players, their top priority is a safe experience. There are exits in the facility that are unlocked at all times during business hours when players are on-site. The pathways to these exits are unobstructed. Random Escapez is in compliance with all fire and safety protocols and have a safety plan to address any emergency event that occurs.
  • Do I need to sign a waiver? Can I sign it online?
    Waivers must be signed before entering any game. Participants can review the waiver prior to arriving. See Booking Info Page
  • My child is playing with a group of friends, can I just drop them off and come back in an hour?"
    Not if anyone in the group is under the age of 15 and there is no adult supervising the group. If anyone in the group is under the age of 15, an adult must be in the room with the group at all times.
  • Are your rooms accessible?
    Yes, we’ve made every effort to accommodate all types of players.
  • What if I am late?
    All escape room experiences begin at the designated time. If you are late, your game time is decreased. If the rest of the group is ready on time, they are allowed to start without you.
  • Can you customize your escape rooms for special events?
    Yes! We can customize puzzles based on special themes or combinations, such as birthdays, anniversary/wedding dates, graduations, or anything else you can think of! Contact us for more information.
  • Can I take pictures or video?
    Pictures and videos are not allowed inside the room. We want to keep the room a surprise for the other players! If we see you spoiling the fun, we will ask you to exit the game, and you will not be refunded.
  • Are tickets refundable?
    All sales are final and refunds are not issued for cancellations or no shows. No refunds allowed; you may reschedule your booking up to 3 times. Rescheduling is allowed up to 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time. After 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time has passed, it will be considered a cancellation and no rescheduling will be allowed. If any player in your party is feeling sick, or has been exposed to someone who is sick, please stay at home and contact us to reschedule your adventure.
  • What is a private booking?
    Purchase at least the minimum amount of tickets (3) for that game time and the room will be private for you and your guests.
  • What is the team building experience like?
    Have your team meet at Random Escapez 15 minutes before the team building activity begins. You will be greeted by your Game Coordinator who acts as your guide throughout the experience. He or she will give you instructions, provide any necessary hints and ensure that the team feels comfortable throughout the visit. Once in the room, your team can relax, have fun and try something new as they work through the puzzles that lead to escape!
  • Can I bring food?
    Food and drink are not allowed in the rooms. Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
  • Where can I store my belongings while I complete the escape room?
    We will provide a secure storage location on-site for you to place any belongings while you complete the adventure. Alternatively, you may choose to store your personal belongings safely in your vehicle. Random Escapez is not responsible for any personal belongings not stored within our facility.
  • How much does it cost?
    Tickets are $25 per person plus online processing fees.
  • What are your COVID-19 Protcols?
    The safety of our guests and employees is our number one priority. We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our fun, cooperative, private small group activities. In accordance with state, local, and CDC guidelines, Random Escapez requires masks for all players. In addition to the recommended cleaning practices, we have implemented additional precautions recommended by the NC Dept of Health and Human Services and the CDC to help protect against the spread of COVID-19. These include: We keep up to date on the current CDC guidelines We’re in compliance with all statewide mandates. There is contactless booking and check-in via our website. All booking must be completed online before you enter Random Escapez. Walk-ins are not allowed. We have digital waivers that you access and sign once you arrive. Hand sanitizer is placed in each room so you can use it when you enter and exit the room (or anytime in between). We disinfect the rooms disinfectant spray before and after each game use. Mask are optional, we practice social distancing, and wash our hands frequently.
  • Will strangers be in the room with me?
    No, all of our bookings are private. Only people included in your reservation are in the room with you. There is a 3-person minimum for each booking.
  • My child or friend is playing with a group of friends, can I wait in the lobby?"
    No, we don’t have room to accommodate people waiting for an hour or more in the lobby. Our lobby is just the right size for welcoming groups.
  • Are we able to pick a custom time for our team building experience?
    Please contact us and we can discuss availability and options for your experience.
  • Do you offer any type of program for private, organized groups or clubs?"
    Yes! We love to host private, organized groups and clubs. Contact us for more information.
  • How far in advance should we book a team-building experience?
    We recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance to ensure that you are able to book the ideal time and desired room for your outing. We offer team building experiences throughout the week during both day and evening hours. Random Escapez will work with you to ensure that your team experience is a positive one.
  • Is it scary or claustrophobic?
    Our escape room will have various themes at different times throughout the year. Depending on the theme, there may be interactive features such as jump scares, live actors, or scary themes. Participant maximums per game will be determined based on the escape room theme, but will always ensure that the game can be enjoyed safely by all.
  • Do I need to buy a ticket if I am in the room to supervise, but I am not planning to play?"
    Yes, anyone who is actually in the escape room needs to buy a ticket.
  • Are we locked in the escape room?
    No, you are not actually locked in the escape room. You are free to exit the room at any time, but the timer won’t stop. Once you exit, you will not be allowed to re-enter.
  • There are only 3 people in our group, can we still unlock a good time?"
    If you’ve played a lot of escape rooms, it is possible! However, if this is your first escape room or you’ve only played a couple, we strongly recommend a group of at least 4 or more players.
  • Is there an age limit for the escape rooms?
    The escape rooms are suitable for ages 8+. If any children in the group are under the age of 15, there must be an adult accompanying them in the escape room. There may be special events where the escape room is suitable for ages 8 and under. Adult supervision will still be required. Please contact us to inquire about age requirements for rooms before booking.
  • Can we squeeze one or two more people into the escape room?
    No, due to the room design and safety regulations, we cannot exceed the maximum of 8 players in the escape room.
  • What kind of teams benefit from the escape room team-building experience?
    All types of teams can benefit! Whether you’re a new team or a team that has years of experience working together, coming to the escape room gives the team time away from the office to interact in an informal setting. It will strengthen the bonds of the participants through the creation of shared experiences. This experience is great for corporate groups, PTA leadership, community leadership, small businesses, athletic teams, bands, orchestras, or any group of people that collaborate on a regular basis.
  • We have a large group, can you accommodate all of us at the same time?"
    Large groups can experience Random Escapez by booking consecutive times. Each experience can accommodate up to 8 players.
  • Do you offer custom-designed team building or group activities?
